A pocket sized field of wild blooms - painted in gouache and accented with flashes of metallics and neons so that it shifts with the light. Part of my Luminous Brights small works collection, these pieces are made to feel immediate and alive - art you can live with, not just look at. They have that bright-meets-luminous energy that reminds us that small doesn’t mean quiet.
Painted on a 5×7” sheet of hot pressed 100% cotton watercolour paper in gouache and then highlighted with florescent and metallic poscas and outlined with my trusty black Tombow pen.
It’s a loose, reimagined field… a mix of daisies, cornflowers and red cosmos paired with neon confetti dots that don’t follow the rules. I painted it the way that wildflowers grow - fast, imperfect, but full of life.
